Off Day for Everyone… Not for Housewives!

In this fast moving world, everyone is busy with their job, profession, schools, colleges, universities etc. And in those stressful and busy days when they get a day off its like heaven on earth. They start making plans for the off day a day before. Right from the time when they will wake up in the morning (which is usually late) till the time when they’ll go to bed at night, everything is planned. The entire day is planned to take rest or entertainment say, watching their favourite TV shows, movies or hanging out with friends or say going for shopping etc. Basically the goal is to make the day as a stress buster, which normally ends up being successful.

But, this successful stress busting day of their’s is possible only because of the one person, the housewife in a family who alone plays different roles. She is a wife, a mother, a daughter-in-law, a sister-in-law, she is the backbone of the family, the engine of their automobile(family). She is the root of the family which holds the entire family tree. And above all she is the one who never have an “Off Day” from her work. If, say for an hour, I repeat, just for an hour, not even for a day she takes leave from her work, the whole family would go dysfunctional. Her work never ends. She keeps running like a machine, never stops. Even a machine at some point stops working but a housewife never does

I’m not a housewife, but I’ve seen a housewife pretty closely who never had a holiday or leave etc. even when she was severely sick. That’s my Mom. Right from the day she was married till the present day, she devoted her entire time to this family without any complaints and demands. And I can guarantee, without any doubts that she would continue doing so happily in the coming days too. It have kinda became a priority for her, even when I ask her to sit back for a moment and let me help, she would find something or the other to do. But won’t let her hands or her mind rest. She would find an excuse to keep her hands busy.

We, at a point of our life ask for a break from our job or studies or profession etc., but a housewife is the only person who never asks for one ever. Though she is the one who needs it the most. Instead she just keeps going….
